Two additional filters have just been added to the Portal – Country and Data Type.
The Country filter enables resources to be selected by national location, i.e. modern day country name. The example image shown is a rubbing of a Moose from the Swedish Rock Art Collection which is located in Norway.
Resources can have more than one country, e.g. a large archaeological site which extends across a border or a report which references more than one country. The map tool can also be used in conjunction with the Country filter (or instead of it).
The Data Type filter refers to the format of the resource, i.e. text, video, geospatial, 3D etc. The term ‘Data Type’ that was previously used on the Resource information page (to denote collection, records, dataset etc.) has been replaced with the term “Category”.
Since these are additional fields that have been added to the metadata, the records in the Portal are currently being updated to include this new information.
