ADS will be providing training on semantic data mapping of archaeological and heritage data from the 12th-16th October 2026 at the University of York, UK.
This five day course will instruct participants with the understanding and practical skills needed for semantic data mapping of archaeological and heritage data. It will focus on how to map data and aggregate it to the ARIADNE portal, a central point of access to digital archives and online resources related to archaeology and heritage from throughout Europe.
No previous experience is necessary, however, participants will be required to have a real-world dataset that they would like to map to the ARIADNE Portal.
Topics covered in this training school will include:
- An Introduction to Linked Open Data
- The principles of semantic data integration
- The ARIADNE Portal, CIDOC-CRM and the AO-Cat Ontology
- Preparing your data to map to the ARIADNE Portal
- How to use ARIADNE’s mapping tools and resources.
