ARIADNE is delighted to announce that AGLAIA has won the Heritage in Motion 2026 Award in the New Digital Experiences category!

Ginevra Niccolucci receives the Heritage in Motion award for AGLAIA

ATRIUM represented by Ginevra Niccolucci of PRISMA, received the award on the 30th September , following the presentation of AGLAIA at the Heritage in Motion Festival which celebrates the best multimedia projects that explore, promote, or safeguard cultural heritage worldwide. A joint initiative of the European Museum Academy (EMA) & Forum of Slavic Cultures (FSK), it honours innovation in digital storytelling.

AGLAIA is a glossary of commonly used terms from Archaeology which is available in both Italian Sign Language and International Sign Language (ISL).

Ginevra commented that she was particularly happy with the jury’s motivation, which really captures the ideas behind AGLAIA and the work we have been doing within ATRIUM:

“For its valuable contribution to inclusive heritage communication, making archaeological terminology more accessible to Deaf audiences through clear and purposeful sign-language resources. A pioneering linguistic and social initiative that opens archaeology to new forms of participation and shared knowledge.”

She added: “I think this is a wonderful recognition not only for AGLAIA, but also for the collaborative environment that ATRIUM has created around accessibility, community engagement and participatory approaches to cultural heritage.”
