FLUID-AI4EOSC (FAIR Liquidity Unifying Interoperable Data and AI) is a three year project starting in October 2026 with 28 partners from 12 countries.

The project aims to help research data and AI/ML models move securely and seamlessly across platforms and scientific domains, building on and extending the FAIR principles.

Its work centers on three pillars:
• An AI/ML Competence Centre providing training, expert support, and practical resources.
• Semantic and technical interoperability standards supporting the discovery, combination, and reuse of data and models.
• An accessible Scientific AI DataLab helping domain scientists focus on scientific discovery.

FLUID-AI4EOSC will validate its approach through eight real-world use cases drawn from European research infrastructures. It builds on the AI4EOSC Scientific AI DataLab and collaborates with EOSC-ARENA and GenAI4Earth. The ARIADNE RI leads one of the use cases, AI for improving information retrieval in cultural heritage, using the resources from the Portal which contains over 4 million archaeology and cultural heritage datasets. AI will be used to enrich metadata for NoSQL and SPARQL searches across text, images, 3D and scientific diagrams. LLM-based interfaces will also be tested to lower the barrier for non-technical users to query the SPARQL system without requiring programming knowledge. Collaboration with the archaeological and cultural heritage research community (widely represented within ARIADNE) will assess and validate that the solution developed meets their needs when interacting with the ARIADNE knowledge base, ensuring a wide adoption and a successful EOSC integration.
